I was in the Army for eight years and after getting out, I couldn’t wear dress socks anymore, because none of them stayed up on my calves. No matter how many different types of dress socks I tried they all just fell down throughout the day. I mentioned being in the Army, because our thick cotton Army-green socks would go all the way up just below our knees and stay up all day, and I ended up getting very used to that fit. In the fall and winter, I just wear the same exact Army-green socks underneath my boots and I have no issues. But during the spring and summer when I wear lighter shoes, I needed some type of thin pair of dress socks with my jeans and dress pants. These compression socks fit the bill perfectly. As it happens, I have also had troubles with thrombosis in the past, and I’m not new to wearing compression stockings. For someone who has never worn compression stockings before these may actually be very tight on their calves, and be a discomforting feeling at first. I believe that you can get used to the feeling fairly quickly, but that is of note. Also of note, they do losen up a slight bit after being washed a few times. I liked my first order of socks I Oreade red a second pack with different designs on them. Highly recommended!
